AW11 Front Trunk Prop Rod Kit Installation Instructions

Your kit will consist of the following items:

2x hydraulic prop rods w/ installation hardware pre-installed in correct locations.

The brackets are as follows:

To install:
1. Pop front trunk and secure with stock prop rod (this is the last time you will use it!)
2. Locate and remove the top-most bolt from the lid hinge. Place the bolt through the hole in the bracket, securing it to the lid. The bracket should look like this when completed:

3. Locate and remove the 3 10mm bolts from the fender as shown in this picture.

4. Remove the safety clip from the ball joint socket rod end if so equipped (as shown HERE). Place the ball stud into hole #1 keeping the stock bumper pad bracket in place. If desired (and so equipped) you may place the nylon bolts in holes #2 and #3. Leaving them out will not harm anything.
5. Place the large, body, end on the hinge bracket ball stud and replace the safety clip if so equipped.
6. Place the small, rod, end on the fender ball stud bolt and replace the safety clip if so equipped.
7. Ensure that the body of the prop rod is above the rod like in this picture:

8. Repeat on the opposite side.

If you so wish, you may remove the stock prop rod. The top quality hydraulic rods are designed to last many many years and are virtually maintenance free.
